Book Synopsis
Forgiveness is central to the Christian faith because
every Christian becomes a Christian through forgiveness.
We enter the kingdom only because God, in His great
mercy, has pardoned our sins. Therefore, if we expect God
to forgive our failures, o!enses, and transgressions, it
follows that we must in turn be willing to forgive those who
sin against us. To withhold forgiveness from others while
asking God for forgiveness ourselves is a contradiction that
Jesus Himself condemned.
Because of this, the subject of forgiveness—and the
related battle against bitterness—is vital for every follower
of Christ. Unforgiveness destroys relationships, poisons the
soul, grieves the Holy Spirit, and hinders spiritual growth.
Forgiveness, on the other hand, brings healing, restores
fellowship, and re"ects the heart of our Savior. It is one of
the most beautiful and powerful demonstrations of the
gospel lived out in everyday life.
In this book on forgiveness and overcoming bitterness, I
will share several chapters designed to help the reader
understand the biblical doctrine of forgiveness, its necessity,
and its practical application in our daily walk with the
Lord.
