Book Synopsis
The author of the book is the prophet Habakkuk his name means to embrace or wrestle. Mostly likely his ministry took place during the reign of King Josiah.

Habakkuk was a contemporary of the prophet Jeremiah, therefore they both wrote about the impending captivity of Judah by the Babylonians.

The book focuses on Judah’s sin and God’s remedy for their sin, the Babylonian invasion and captivity. The last chapter of the book concludes with a poetic hymn of praise.
