Rudolph Holsinger was by oral tradition was born in the Black Hills of Germany. I contacted someone who could look into the records, and it was found that Rudolph had stated that he was born in Switzerland, the birth record found for Rudoph Holsinger was found in Basel, Basel-Stadt, Cantons, Bas-Rhin, Switzerland, which are in the Black Forest and at times, the area was a part of the German empire.
