Book Synopsis
This is a layered mystery set in a small 1920s town, centered around a church with a rich history and a series of puzzling events that unfold there.
It’s a story that begins with a funeral for a woman whose identity no one seems to know, and it quickly spirals into something much more complex
We meet James Farrahi, a young independent investigator who’s not only dealing with this mystery but also processing his own experiences with death. James is 24, and he’s been involved in several murder investigations, but this case is different.
It starts with a funeral at a church that used to be Catholic but is now Unitarian. The story weaves two main mysteries: first, the identity of the woman who died and was buried under the wrong name, and second, the murder of a prisoner named Griffin in that very woodworking shop.
In the funeral mystery, the woman in the casket was thought to be Ellen McCready Dunipace, but then the real Ellen shows up alive, which throws everyone for a loop.
