This book: The Guide to Recovery, Prepared and Written by Rabbi Yosef Netanyahu Ben David is an educational resource, not a substitute for individualized medical, psychiatric, addiction-medicine, or emergency care. Substance withdrawal can be medically dangerous—especially withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepines, and some other sedative drugs. Treatment decisions, detoxification, medication selection, pregnancy care, overdose response, and management of co-occurring psychiatric or medical conditions should be handled by appropriately qualified clinicians. No section of this book should be interpreted as a self-detoxification protocol.
The phrase “all drugs” is not literally finite: new psychoactive substances, pharmaceutical products, analogs, counterfeit pills, and regional formulations continually change. This guide therefore covers the major clinically important drug classes and representative substances, including alcohol, opioids, stimulants, sedatives, cannabis, hallucinogens, dissociatives, inhalants, nicotine, prescription medications, and emerging/counterfeit substances. It emphasizes mechanisms, harms, evidence-based treatment, family repair, prevention, and safety rather than instructions for making, obtaining, or using drugs.
