Book Synopsis
One in Two Million (Version 2) (now available as an ebook)

About two million allied soldiers fought in France during World War Two. This is the story of one of them, my father, Casper (Jack) Alagna.

In this updated version, I have added stories of my visits to France and Ireland to see the places my father had been.

Many people, like me, have no idea of what it was like for their fathers or grandfathers in the Army during that time. Memoirs about WWII France are hard to come by. So I wrote this book. It's a GI’s story before, during, and after the greatest war.

Read it to learn about:

- Life in the US Army during WWII,(including Iceland, Ireland, & France),
- Patton’s Third Army,
- The 5th Division, and,
- Following a soldier's footsteps

About The Author
Joe grew up in Cicero, Illinois and moved to California with his wife and two sons during the 1980s. He's always been interested in his father's experiences in WWII and, during a break due to Covid, finally got the chance to write it all down.

The result is a compelling and rare story of the typical WWII veteran, most of whom did not have time to record what happened in the army, especially in battle.
