Book Synopsis
This book was written with the aim of recovering vital aspects of Christian worship. My years of worship leadership have allowed me to see both the good and bad in local church worship practices. The bad of which I speak is tied to improper or neglected worship practices. The five essentials chosen for this book are limited in scope, for certainly, there are more. These five aspects, however, are worship essentials which I have seen neglected more than others. The neglect of these elements has assuredly paved the way for unbiblical, human-focused, and selfish worship practices. I refer to these five elements as essentials based on their biblical commands, their place in church history, and their theological implications. For God’s people to worship properly, the essentials of worship must be taken seriously. My hope then is that these neglected essentials are recovered in the church so that worship is renewed.
