Book Synopsis
David tells us in the Psalms that when he was
converted the Lord put a new song in his mouth. David said, "He also
brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my
feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in
my mouth—Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will
trust the Lord." Psalm 40: 2-3.
From the earliest days of my life with Christ, I have loved to sing
the praises of God. It was not long after my conversion that I began
to write some of my prayers and meditations down in poetic verse so
I could sing them back to the Lord. When I shared this with friends
they suggested that I put these prayers and meditations into print so
others could sing them as well. I am no musician. I am not a great
poet. I am just an unworthy sinner who loves to draw near to the
Lord in song and loves to express my worship in songs of praise to
the One who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
