This is parenting

This book changed my life and really opened my eyes to what gentle parenting is all about. I grew up in a household where physical punishments and yelling were the norm. It has always been important to me that I don’t discipline or parent this way.

I needed a tool to help open my eyes to the wonders authoritative parenting. This book was that tool. It is concise but filled to the brim with information. Not only about different parenting styles but the reasons behind certain behaviors in your children.

5/5 for me and I highly recommend any parent read this book.

Very poorly written, runs on and on. It’s very repetitive and has no clear distinction between “chapters”. Not worth $30, only pro is it’s a very short read.

Gabriel’s videos have been powerful and inspiring. This book is best for those that want to have a deeper understanding of his perspective. If I hadn’t been hooked on his videos I might not have made it past the introductory chapter.

This book sorely needs some professional editing. It feels a bit like reading someone’s senior thesis. However, Gabriel’s coverage of how to address problem behaviors and establish better relationships with children is useful enough that I am happy with my purchase.

While the book could use a bibliography section I appreciate that Gabriel references the research supporting his advice by author and year. I think there is no shortage of advice out there for parents. I like knowing the evidence for that advice.
