Book Synopsis
This book presents a biblical and hope-filled defense of postmillennialism, with special attention given to the magnificent kingdom prophecies of Isaiah. Rather than viewing history as the inevitable triumph of unbelief and darkness, these pages point to Scripture’s promise of the victorious advance of Christ’s kingdom through the power of the Gospel. From the mountain that fills the whole earth to the promise that “the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea,” Isaiah presents a Messiah who “shall not fail nor be discouraged.” The book surveys the great kingdom passages of Scripture, the conversion and blessing of the nations, the worldwide victory of the Gospel, and the latter-day glory of Christ’s Church. It also examines the postmillennial hope found in the writings and preaching of great Christians of the past. This is a call to faith, confidence, labor, and prayer as the Church looks forward to the promised triumph of Christ’s kingdom among the nations.
