Book Synopsis
Not for the humorless. Not for the timid. Not, frankly, for you — unless you can prove otherwise.
Somewhere in the unmapped South Pacific sits The Effrontery Lodge: the world's most exclusive restaurant, accessible only to those who pass its notorious entrance exam (multiple choice, essay portion, and a non-negotiable requirement for a well-developed sense of humor). Now, for the first time, the Lodge's legendary kitchen throws open its doors — sort of — with over 500 pages of recipes drawn from generations of Pidgin cooking, jungle-expedition folklore, and the unhinged wisdom of a long line of self-declared Pagan Progenitors.
Equal parts cookbook, tall tale, and fever dream, this collection serves up everything from breakfast staples to holiday feasts, with sauces, soups, breads, and outrageous desserts in between — each recipe narrated with the swagger, innuendo, and gleeful bad taste of a Lodge that has never once apologized for anything. The introductions alone are worth the price of admission: rambling, scandalous, and utterly certain of their own genius.
If you've ever wanted a cookbook that argues with you, flirts with you, and occasionally threatens you before telling you how long to bake the cornbread — welcome to the table. Reservations not required. A sense of humor is.
