Book Synopsis
Having an understanding of the work and sacrifice of leaders of the early New Testament Church can help believers today strengthen and heighten confidence in their faith. The first five centuries of the church were marked by peril, dangers, and severe oppression. Against all odds, brave believers withstood fierce opposition and made great sacrifices to ensure the teachings of Jesus and the disciples were preserved and made known throughout the vast Roman Empire and beyond.
The leaders of the early New Testament Church, sometimes called Church Fathers, inspired millions—not just by what they wrote—but also by how they lived and died. Accordingly, I believe it honors the Lord when believers today give due consideration to the service and sacrifice of those who played crucial roles in shaping and supporting the New Testament Church.
