Born on the island of Bimini in The Bahamas, Bishop Ellis’s oratorical gift was evident early in life. His leadership continued to distinguish him academically and civically as he later served two terms as President of the College of the Bahamas Union of Students. In 1987, responding to a higher calling, Bishop Ellis founded Mount Tabor Union Baptist Church with only eleven members.
