Book Synopsis
Lilly Chandler is serene; little ruffles the waters of her life, whereas her husband Alan Chandler suffers recurring anxiety attacks.
After a late night of drinking Lilly awakes with a bad hangover, blood on the kitchen floor, and a missing husband. When Alan fails to return, she is forced to deal with her natural inclination to ignore troubles and hope they will go away.
But they do not, when Sgt. Ray Maddox uncovers circumstantial evidence that Alan may be dead. The Sargeant seems determined to send Lilly to prison.
Meanwhile, while Lilly works to hold her life together, her husband Alan struggles to simply keep his. Lost in the wilderness he faces death and the anxiety attacks that have haunted him since his childhood. At times, his efforts are ingenious but he finds nature’s odds are against him.
