Book Synopsis
The St. Rose of Lima Church celebrated their 150th Anniversary (1848–1998) of the formal establishment of the Catholic Church and the founding of Saint Rose Parish. As the mother church in Meriden, Connecticut, generations of Catholic parishioners could trace their spiritual roots and origins back to the late 1800’s. Throughout the years the Parish has been truly blessed with a capable clergy, religious education, active societies, a vibrant music ministry, a mecca for a variety of sports, and several neighborhood accomplishments. The capital improvements included the opening of a school in 1874, the Convent in 1877, a redesigned magnificent Church in 1914, a Community Building in 1922, a remodeled Convent in 1928, a new school in 1959, and the 1994 renovation of the Community Center. On October 11, 1998, the year-long 150th celebration peaked with a Mass of Thanksgiving, plus the initial distribution of the 150th Book. This 2024 release coincides with the release of the 175th Book.
