Book Synopsis
General John Ashe was one of the most misunderstood generals of the American Revolution. Blamed almost exclusively for the Patriot loss at Brier Creek, Georgia on March 3, 1779, Ashe resigned from the service and returned to his home in North Carolina to live out the remainder of his days in relative anonymity. This book seeks to uncover the real reasons for the American defeat and to vindicate Ashe's reputation.
