Remembering Whitney is a local history dealing with the small communities of Whitney and Whitney Junction in north Alabama. Whitney was a old railroad community and Whitney Junction covered the area around the intersection of what is now U.S. 231 and 9U.S. 11. The book was taken from interviews of people living in these communities in the 1990s.

Wayne Ruple grew up in Crawford's Cove in the Whitney Junction community where he rode his bicycle up and down Rock Crusher Road and climbed Blount Mountain.
He has worked for: THE SHADES VALLEY SUN, ST. CLAIR NEWS-AEGIS, THE INDEPENDENT, TALLADAGE DAILY HOME, SAND MOUNTAIN REPORTER & THE CLEBURNE NEWS along with numerous national magazines.
