Book Synopsis
The ancient creeds of Christianity define what it means to be Christian. However, there is one Christian group—members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons)—who claim that all those creeds are wrong and need to be revamped. This is why many people assert that Mormons are not Christians at all, despite their belief in Jesus Christ.
Mormonism provides a remarkably different view of Christ and his work from that of normative Christianity, taking all the old stories and reinterpreting them based on the revelations received by Joseph Smith, the founding prophet of the Church. This book is about that reinterpretation. I offer it, not as the Mormon viewpoint, but as a Mormon viewpoint—mine. It is written for both believers and non-believers in the hope that all will come away with a better understanding of their LDS friends and neighbors.
About The Author
Rodney L. Williamson is a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He holds a BS degree from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, both in chemistry. He is retired from Sandia National Laboratories and the University of Texas in Austin. He and his wife, Barbara, a retired middle school principal, have been married for fifty years and are both practicing members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
