Book Synopsis
When I began documenting our family history, I knew that our roots were in Lithuania, my family always made that clear. Our DNA results confirmed it and my journey began. I did not know my grandparent's names, how they lived, or anything about them. As nieko apie juos nezinojau! When I was younger, I had a very casual attitude towards family history and was not very attentive on those rare occasions when my family told their stories. Over time, I got serious and once I began arranging the multitude of photographs that Ed and I had collected over the years, I realized that our photos, especially the old ones, told a story. Lucky for us, some of those old photos had notes on the back.
Writing those precious few stories of our family's journey has been one of the many amazing journeys of my life. The history books and Wikipedia chronicle their accounts, but we have our own history. We have traveled simultaneously with theirs and it is an honor to tell these stories.
