Book Synopsis
Fareedah Jefferson; author of
One Day My World Changed was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1978 to parents Viola and Sandy Jefferson. The oldest of three children, she lived in Crown Heights during her formative years, but was predominantly raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn until she entered the United States Army at the age of 20. As a young child she was always fond of dance, African culture, the English language and writing. After her time in the service she would go on to major in both Journalism and English at Medgar Evers College, which is where she further developed a passion for writing. In the book, One Day My World Changed, Fareedah and her daughter Madison take a retrospective journey of the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent shutdown while simultaneously highlighting the often elusive topic of Mental Health.
