Book Synopsis
This is a little book of poems about prevailing through the perilous waters of midlife, wherever they are. When my children were young, I read to them the little book of poems, NOW WE ARE SIX, written by A. A. Milne. I often wondered what happened to Christopher Robin when he grew up and became middle aged—he probably became an erotic old man with prostate problems, as I have. This was Michael’s first realization that his youthful virility and apparent immortality had so visibly abandoned him, leaving behind the traumatic symbols of man’s frailty—unattainable goals, graying baldness, prostate problems, perceived impotency...well you get the picture. So now that we’re fifty I thought you might enjoy his poems and get inspired to follow Michael’s example and prevail, rather than just survive, this difficult age.
