Book Synopsis
Although the wondrous sweet treats my mother made for us younguns live together inside My Recipe Box alongside a few of my own old favorites from the 1970s, hers date back 60 to 80 years, and a handful have survived their 100th birthday.
These old friends have one thing in common – they are yesteryear's trendy version of rich mouth-watering sweet fast-foods. Some are truly “made from scratch” creations with natural wholesome foods, but most of them are quick and easy desserts, snacks, candies and sweet salads that combine ready-made ingredients with delicious things like real sugar, butter, cream, whipped cream, and cream cheese.
So, if you crave homemade goodies that are fun to make and as sweet as your taste-buds imagine they are, you've found them! Delicious and Historically correct, these desert recipes are not politically correct. Use at your own risk and pleasure. You have been warned.
