Book Synopsis
My Life in Tocamaquig, Maine
As you can tell from the dates I’ve included, I’ve written these observations as a sort of diary over the course of many months. It was sent out over that period of time as individual newsletters. The long gaps are accounted for in that I was either too busy or too disinterested to continue. That or I felt that there was nothing of consequence to write about. Then something would happen in town that I thought my friends back in Illinois or Iowa or my family out in California might enjoy reading about and I picked it up again. I poke some good-natured fun at my neighbors, but in reality, Maine is home to me now and I have come to appreciate and care for these hearty people who have survived for generations in this semi-hostile environment. (Now the Summahs heah are not hahd to take but the Wintahs are brutal) I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it and I also hope that it doesn’t ruffle too many feathers.
