Book Synopsis
We consume, literally, tons of food over the course of our lifetimes. Food that is supposed to fuel our bodies, our brains, our hearts, and our cells. The quality of these foods, or this fuel, has a direct impact on the function of our bodies and ultimately on the quality of our lives. When we consume whole, fresh foods, our body recognizes them immediately and knows exactly how to process them for our benefit.

Medicine From Your Kitchen is a locally-sourced cookbook out of Liberty Hill, TX brought to you by Care First Walk-In Clinic. It's full of healthy hometown favorites, from Tex-Mex entrees to appetizers with a more Mediterranean flair and each is rated with our health-o-meter to guide you.

Consuming beautiful nutritious foods is one of the best interventions for maintaining health and improving many chronic health conditions. And your kitchen is full of prescriptions that do not require a co-pay. It's time to get cooking!

About The Author
Author bio image
Kaela Thurman APRN, FNP-C, is the owner of Care First Walk-in Clinic in Liberty Hill, Texas. In the beginning, it started as a dream between two emergency care providers who wanted to make healthcare more accessible. Now, the clinic has grown to become a home for multiple Nurse Practitioners and specialty care providers, expanding the scope of services for their patients, and creating what they’re calling a Hometown Health Center.

Medicine From Your Kitchen is a collection of locally-sourced recipes with Kaela's stamp of approval for living a happier, healthier life by fueling your body with foods you need most to keep you and your family healthy and out of the clinic as much as possible.
