Book Synopsis
There, somewhere, in everyone’s family tree are ancestors that served during the American Civil War (1861-1865), a very tumultuous time in this nation’s history. Families sacrificed sons and fathers in a cause in which they believed. The following is a compilation of information on the ancestors of Rebecca A. LePore (Cabe). In my family, both sides Confederate and Union were served, depending on where they lived. Some served even at the opposition of their fathers while only one moved appeared to move their family to (West Virginia) serve on the side of which they believed was just and nonetheless lost their life. Family names included: Comer, Dodson, Hoak, Printz/Prince, Tilman, Smallwood and Woodward.
