About The Author
Rick Malley was born in Picayune, Mississippi, and raised in Varnado, Louisiana, the small rural community that inspired many of the stories in this book. After graduating from Varnado High School in 1975, he earned degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Just a Wide Spot in the Road is his debut memoir and a tribute to the people, places, and memories that shaped his childhood. Rick now lives in Texas. He is a proud father and, if you ask him, a generally good guy.
