Book Synopsis
SYNOPSIS / IN THE DARK

“So let’s see if I’ve got this straight, General,” said the President.
A young lady from Earth’s past has teamed up with some people
from our future who ended up in our past, and they want to share
technology from our future with people from their past, and the
fucking Chinese have kidnapped them in an attempt to steal this
technology from the future for themselves here in the past.

“Have I got that right?”

A spaceship from the future shows up in Earth’s distant past and meets several important people in our history.
Taking care not to cause one or more temporal paradox waves that could crash into the future and alter Earth’s present and future history, the crew of the Ulysses spaceship enters into stasis and wait for the right time to emerge. That time is now.
Unsure of what the future may hold, and how it might change their future, they create a cube containing an encyclopedia of Earth’s future technology with the intention of gifting it to the humans of the present time to ensure it isn’t lost to the reality of paradoxical whimsy.
The future humans left one of their shuttlecraft to be found when humans have reached a certain advanced level of science and technology. It is eventually found by a group of twenty-something friends. The cube was hidden in a cave in Antarctica, and when the friends unearth the saucer, it automatically notifies the Ulysses to wake up its sleeping crew and takes them to retrieve the cube so they can share it with mankind.
Once the future humans observe the chaos and brutality of present-day Earth, they have second thoughts about sharing their advanced technology with Earth.
One of the passengers of the Ulysses named Kalina, who was born five thousand years in the past is tasked with going down to Earth’s surface to interact with the group of friends who have been joyriding in the flying saucer. Being a five-thousand-year-old virgin complicates matters as Kalina starts falling in love with one of their friends.
The AI computer in charge of flying the saucer was struck by lightning five thousand years ago and its crew was forced to land it and were then exposed to pathogens of the time and died after a few days. The villagers that welcomed the strangers from the machine from the sky feared that they had invited evil into their village after the crew of the saucer suddenly died, so they decided to bury the flying machine.
But nothing is what it seems, and this story has twists, turns, and surprises that no one will see coming.
It will be like riding a rollercoaster-like none you’ve ever been on. And when the ride stops, be prepared to fight the urge to tell other readers how this mind-smack of a story ends.
