Book Synopsis
In 1901 when sailing ships didn't have GPS or engines, they had to be towed by tugboat in/out of the rivers to get to their destination ports. The Joseph Luther was a three-masted schooner from New London, Connecticut captained by John Francis who had a pet tiger cat onboard for mousing and companionship. On a frigid January day the ship was towed out from Bath, Maine and ran into a gale as it exits the Kennebec River. This is a true story based on newspaper articles from the time and follows our feline heroine as she not only gets a new home but a great reputation in the community of Hunnewell and the Popham Beach area.
