Book Synopsis
At any given moment the born-again believer is in one of two states—we are either 100% spiritual, or 100% carnal. When the believer is properly oriented to God and His plan, he is spiritual, in fellowship with God, and controlled by the Holy Spirit. He is God-centered, receiving Divine blessings, humble in spirit, and happy.
When he is out of God’s will for his life, he is carnal, out of fellowship, and controlled by his old sin nature. His life is characterized by self-centeredness and Divine discipline. He is arrogant in spirit and miserable. He frantically searches for happiness but cannot find it.
This book discusses how we get out of fellowship with God, how we can recognize when we are, and how to recover from our sinful state, using 1st John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” As Christians we never again have to be slaves to sin.

About The Author
John McReynolds has been a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ since the early 1970’s. He has been an avid student of the Word of God almost since the beginning of his Christian life. Since that time he has studied Scripture under faithful Bible teachers who teach the Word of God exegetically, historically, and categorically, comparing Scripture to Scripture. John has followed that model in his own teaching of the Bible.
John and his wife Linda have been married since 1970. He is a minister of the Gospel, having been licensed by Grace Bible Church of Baytown, Texas in 2002. He served there for many years as the Associate Pastor and Music Minister. Since then John and Linda have relocated to South Daytona, Florida. They have a daughter, a son in law, and a beautiful grandson, who live nearby.
John has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, and recently retired from his position as Quality Assurance Manager for a manufacturing company in Houston, Texas. Not content to stay retired, he now serves as Director of Corporate Quality for a service company in Daytona Beach.
