Developing Drum Fills and Solos with Theme and Variations

This book was developed to bridge the gap between traditional snare drum lessons and drum set lesson. In my years of teaching I have had students ask during snare lessons “why do I have to play these patterns? Or how will this help me playing the drum set. Well the idea is you must be able to play a pattern on one surface before you can apply it to a multi surface situation.
