Book Synopsis
This book exists because of the people who lived and worked in Delamar—miners, families, and laborers whose names are often reduced to statistics. Their effort carved tunnels into solid rock and built a town where none had existed before. Many paid for that work with their health, and some with their lives. This book is written in recognition of that cost.
I am grateful to the historians, archivists, and local researchers who preserved fragments of Delamar’s story when it would have been easier to let it disappear. Their work made it possible to look beyond the ruins and understand the lives that once filled them.
