Book Synopsis
In my current work, I feel that one of the strongest influences for me is the Impressionists. Their work is all about color and light. They would go out into the fields, harbors, or gardens and paint alla prima to quickly capture the light's effect on the environment and how it changed the colors. They wanted to paint the light before it disappeared. Monet's Rouen Cathedral series is a good example. The same scene over and over again because it looked completely different depending on the lighting and the time of day. I started with my Transitions series in 1997 and progressed into Radiation, then the Soft Series. These were unplanned. They were a progression and growth through my artistic and spiritual process. I have been working on this current series, the Field Series, for quite a few years, and it is progressing and subtly changing within itself. I hope you enjoy it and thank you for your support.
