Book Synopsis
Join us as we explore many of Columbus’ postcards, spanning from 1890-1968. Due to inadequate documentation of the day, we will surely never have a precise figure of how many postcards were released of Columbus, but this book (which also explores nearby Elba), is a great guide featuring many of the postcards in a rough chronological order.
In the third installment of the series, we yet again take a look through the fascinating and rich history of the community of Columbus, Wisconsin, but this time we do so through the numerous postcards, that were once a quite common item to be admired for their imagery, as-well as the communication benefit of the day. During the early 20th Century in particular, postcards were at the height of their popularity, and many photographers in and around Columbus seized on the opportunity to produce stunning imagery of the community, whether it be of large businesses such as the Canning Company, Notable Buildings, scenery postcards.
