It supplies derivations and more detail than the author's book, Transistor Amplifiers. It corrects some popular misconceptions about calculating bandwidth, fills in neglected high-frequency transistor impedance gyration theory, and includes the inverse Miller-effect paradox. Design formulas are derived so that the reader knows what they are and where they came from.
