Book Synopsis
Inspired by true events, Carnival Town Murders draws from the incredible legacy of the Astley family of England, pioneers of modern circus/ carnival entertainment. Beginning in the late 1700s with a humble riding school, the Astleys expanded their trick riding performances—adding acrobats, jugglers, magicians, and exotic oddities—evolving into a full-fledged traveling carnival that dazzled audiences across Europe. Spanning multiple generations, the story follows the family's rise through the 1800s and their fateful journey to America in the early 1900s, where the spectacle takes a dark turn. As the big top rises on new soil, a series of bizarre and gruesome murders begin to unfold. History begins to twist. Reality bleeds into illusion. And what was once a celebration of life, laughter, and spectacle becomes a haunted stage where the past refuses to stay buried.
