Book Synopsis
BETWEEN SILENCES, A Series of Monologues by S.J. Henschel
Twenty-two different women offer brief revelations in monologues that are fresh, honest and intimate. Written for women performers, but encompassing universal themes and emotions, the short pieces explore everything including a widow’s brief connection with a dog she meets in the park; a mother’s letter to the daughter who just made her a grandmother; a middle-aged woman who feels self-conscious about entering the dating scene after her divorce. We hear from a Holocaust survivor and an abuse survivor. We hear from the poets and the pessimists, the outsiders and the optimists. And so much more.
Published poet and playwright, S.J. Henschel is a contributing editor to AUDIOFILE Magazine and is the co-author of the children’s musical, GOTTA DANCE!
