I purchased this to use as a primer for clawhammer. I began with scruggs style picking, and was still very early in the process and then I became fascinated with old-time music and started looking into frailing/clawhammer, etc. The best teacher I found on YouTube was Mandy from Banjo Lemonade, and her book did not disappoint. The exercises in the beginning of the book were very helpful in developing better comfort in playing the style, and the selection of songs were great for beginner to early intermediate playing. I would highly recommend for anyone taking on clawhammer playing. I hope she releases more books with more intermediate or advanced songs, especially any old-time classics - I would love to see tabs for artists like Ola Belle Reed, Clarence Ashley, or Bascom Lamar Lunsford. Again, great book - I highly recommend it.
