Annie's Books

These books were written by my maternal grandmother, Anna Mae “Annie” (Newlin) McDonnel. Grandma lived a long life; she was born in 1890 in a log house without electricity or plumbing, and she was 92 years old when she died in 1982 at the beginning of the age of personal computers. Annie has given us a window into the past, and we can look through it any time we want just by reading her words. As you read her books, her life will unfold before you. I invite you to sit back on the couch, with a glass of milk and a plate of warm cookies, and enjoy Grandma’s stories. If you listen hard enough, you may hear a faint echo of her voice.
