Book Synopsis
“Angry and Disgusted” is the autobiographical work by and about Bob Darby, a lifelong human rights activist. Darby came of age as a privileged Caucasian in the segregated South during the civil rights era. America was immersed in a war at home as well as the Vietnam War.
When Darby graduated from Emory University and enrolled at Ivy League schools in the East, he found many comrades who shared his admiration for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Freedom Riders as well as his dedication to the anti-war movement. Darby embraced the freedom of the last 1960’s.
This collection of essays deals with America's current political controversies with particular attention give to the U.S. Army School of Americans (SOA), now re-named the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security and Cooperation whereby Latin American soldiers support U.S. Corporate interests by practicing torture and genocide.
