Book Synopsis
In the summer of 2017, Christopher Eller began an oral history project with his mother, Candyce Eller. What follows is a record of those conversations, which aim to act as a reference for future generations and show the changes in our family dynamic from the early 20th century to the present. The emphasis of these exchanges is on the events and emotions of those involved, presented in a format that is readable yet engaging, bringing the people of our family’s past to life. Stories are explored from Candyce’s perspective, as she is the central force and “rock” of our family.
Much of our family history is documented through photographs, many of which are contained herein to help tell the stories and take the reader to a particular places and time. Above all, we hope to honor those who have shaped our family and helped make us who we are. This book is being presented as a gift to our mother, as a testament to the appreciation, admiration, and love we will always have for her.
