Book Synopsis
The year was 1764, just a few years before the American Revolutionary War, and a little boy was born. His birthplace is uncertain, but probably it was in the northeastern portion of South Carolina known as the Cheraws District. His parents named him David. David Davis.
Follow the story of David Davis as he grows up, gets married, and moves his young family to Richland County, where, about seven miles east of the new city of Columbia, he acquires several thousand acres, and raises his three sons and four daughters. See how the descendants of David Davis survive a huge civil war and two world wars. Hear exciting stories of a young couple eloping, of a school boy almost dying of a rattlesnake bite, of how a young lady marries a circus worker, of how the federal government takes the family property for the construction of a large fort, and even a boy riding an elephant!
David's descendants continue to live all across the USA.
