Book Synopsis
After finishing his last mission as a Texas Ranger Jed Morgan is preparing to retire to a horse ranch when he receives an urgent telegram from his friend the Texas Governor urging him to come to the state capitol in Austin. He goes and reluctantly agrees to undertake one more assignment. The Governor needs him to travel to the small town of Pineville to head off an imminent range war and to see that no harm comes to the Governor’s niece, the alluring Katie Sullivan, owner of the Lucky Seven Ranch.
Morgan encounters assassins and the hired guns of the wealthy and ruthless rancher Luther Kleinard as well as a reluctant sheriff.
This is a story of courage, romance and mystery filled with interesting and believable characters.
