Book Synopsis
Since the beginning of time there have been long-lasting successful, happy, fulfilling marriages. Without a single “expert man has figured out how to harmoniously exist with their married partner. But along came marriage counselors to fix a problem that didn’t exist. We have come to rely on “experts” to tell us self-evident truths that we can discover through knowledge, experience, wisdom, and common sense.
Love is an emptying of ourselves and filling it with God and his love for us, an unconditional love that puts the needs, cares, concerns, and happiness of others over ours. It is the emptying of the needs and wants within us and replacing them with the needs and wants of others.
In marriage, opposites generally do not attract. Those that have the most in common and share the greatest number of beliefs and feelings will fare the best. Differences need to be considered to ensure that a marriage has the greatest chance of being successful.
