Each story represents 13 weeks of study, deep-diving into Plot, Characters, Setting, Mood, Theme, Point of View, and the use of Dialogue. A very pleasant book, Mama Carmen's Stories is a collection of short stories that reflect the author's thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Carmen Mata was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, where many of her stories took place. She then moved to New York City where she currently lives and where her stories continued to unfold. The author's upbringing and experiences have shaped and inspired her as a person and as a writer.
