Fareedah Jefferson; author of One Day My World Changed was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1978 to parents Viola and Sandy Jefferson. The oldest of three children, she lived in Crown Heights during her formative years, but was predominantly raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn until she entered the United States Army at the age of 20.
