Author’s Note: I wrote this story to be used as a closing for a campfire at a church youth camp. The campers talked about walking on God’s road throughout the week. The last day they searched for their stone and wrote their name on one side and a talent or gift they wanted to share on the other side. That evening at the campfire I read this story. Afterwards, they brought their stone and we built a cairn of our own. The next morning at the dedication service, they went to the cairn and picked up someone else’s stone and placed it at the foot of the cross in the chapel. Linda Smith Holder
