(Book 1) June 25, 1959 was the day Charles Starkweather was executed in the electric chair for the murders of 11 people. Jude Cross raised in the same town as Charlie, Lincoln Nebraska, interrogates Charlie breaking down his defenses with the new science of mirroring and profiling. He would discover the real story of Charlie and his 14-year-old girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate, whose family was Charlie’s second and third and fourth victims. In a small town in Georgia in 1976, an 18-year-old girl is hunted in the woods for the assault of two prominent boys who tried to molest her. The innocence of the 1950s and a young girl is resilient, not easily defeated by prejudice and darkness.

(This is Book 2) Forced out of town a young girl becomes Big Jen, cruising the biker bars of the south and southwest, picking fights and brawling with her boys. Charles Starkweather is executed, and Jude writes his firs ‘Social Forensics’ report at the request of J Edgar Hoover. Jude’s life is in a shambles with the deaths of those close to him and he breaks away, leaving his wife and home traveling west on a big Harley.

(This is Book 4) Big Jen takes on the Caldiddys (California Devils Diciples) gang. Pro (Jude Cross) is recalled to the FBI to interrogate a young man arrested for an armed attack on a high school and the murder of a security guard. Jude writes his second ‘Social Forensics’ report. Pro disappears and Big Jen tracks him across the nation. Pro’s worlds collide as he is reunited with Christine, his wife. One will rise and one will fall as Strange Compromises defines who we were and who we become.

(This is Book 3) Jude finds a home in the biker world, rising to respect and power as Pro (The Professor) but is still fractured by a life gone wrong and deaths that haunt him.
