From the first few pages, I knew I was hooked! Karen’s mind is a beautiful one and she writes in such a descriptive way, you are able to see the places and faces. Hear the sounds... smell the weather. It depends on your perspective if Tom truly has a gift. Even he wasn’t always sure. I couldn’t put this book down and will now read it again. Grateful for this new exciting author, Karen Plautz, and look so forward to book two in the Tom series! Also, adored her three children’s books. Such wonderful insight and lessons for our little ones. Five stars ??

Intriqued from the 1st chapter. Thought about what was next even when I couldn't be reading. The way she intertwined the essence of the home town she grew up in, interest/curiosity in the paranormal and real life (like) murder mystery was quality - Serious story telling skills. On the level of Janet Evanovich. Book #1 a huge sucess. Looking forward to reading more from Karen.

The unusual setting, and the characters in this book stimulated my interest from the start. I was drawn in to discover what Tom's gift actually was. I enjoyed it so much I didn't want to put the book down so I read it in a couple of days. I was sad when it was over and wished I could read on. I'm certainly looking forward to the sequel!

From the start this reader wanted to find out about Tom's gift. It's the kind of book you don't want to put down.

This book deserves more than 5 stars! It is undeniably one of the best “can’t put down” books I have ever read. Aside from the paranormal aspect that was my main interest, this book has many stories within one that touches on a whole range of emotions. There is so much going on all the time, you can’t wait to read what happens next. Tom’s “Gift” is definitely what will make this a best seller!

I have always been fascinated by the paranormal and this book does NOT disappoint! Like another comment here, once I began reading it, I could not put it down. The twists and turns keep you constantly thinking "what will happen next?" I am sure some readers will relate to Tom's journey through his childhood and becoming an adult. His tragedies in life (both highs & lows), leave the reader feeling different emotions throughout the book.

With the changing scenes & characters, I can easily see this becoming a movie. Definitely WORTH THE READ!
