Book Synopsis
The Tip of the Saber is a book about my experiences as a combat medic when I was in Vietnam. I was attached to A Company 2nd/5th Cavalry 1st Cavalry Division. I spent my entire year with A Company, the book is an account of the battles, stories, and feeling I experienced. The book is written 50 years after my tour so time has enabled me to reflect and begin to understand my Vietnam

Set in 1966-67, this book provides a chilling account of a young, 'drafted', soldier trying to survive his one year tour of duty in Viet Nam. Having endured that "front line" experience, the author takes us along a battle-filled journey of hardship and close friendships in perhaps America's most controversial war. Full of detail, emotion, and unique 50 year old photos, "Tip of the Saber" is a well-documented insight into what the war in Viet Nam was really like through the eyes of a "Combat Field Medic" who genuinely lived it.
