Book Synopsis
With all the discussions of current economic crises globally, some are suggesting a return to or another look at, the political economy of Marx and Engels and their analysis of capitalism. Many argue pro-Marx clearly without having read the basics of Marx and Engels. Others opposing the relevance of the theories of Marx and Engels, on the logic, dynamics and fate of capitalism, as well as some version of socialism advocated by Marxists, do so also clearly on the basis not having read Marx. Thus this book attempts at being an honest exposition of what Marx and Engels actually argued; what they actually predicted if at all; on what basis; and on the basis of what reasoning and/or evidence. This is not a polemic for or against Marxism, or for or against Neoclassical Economics, but seeks to be a fact-based exploration of Marx's and Engels' economic theory and analysis of the capitalist system as contrasted with some of the core theory of Neoclassical Economics.
